Ligamento medial colateral

El ligamento medial colateral conecta el extremo del fémur (muslo) con la parte superior de la tibia. Este ligamento proporciona estabilidad contra el estrés de varo, que consiste en una presión aplicada a la pierna que trata de girar lateralmente la parte baja de ésta en la rodilla apartándose de la otra pierna. Las causas más comunes de esta lesión son las cargas al balón en un juego de fútbol.
