Cáncer de células basales

El cáncer de células basales es un tumor de piel maligno que involucra cambios cancerosos en las células basales de la piel. Este tipo de cáncer se presenta, por lo general, en áreas de la piel que son regularmente expuestas a la luz solar o a la radiación ultravioleta. Cuando se descubre una lesión sospechosa, se necesita realizar una biopsia para confirmar el diagnóstico de carcinoma de células basales. El tratamiento varía dependiendo del tamaño, la profundidad y la ubicación del cáncer. El tratamiento oportuno realizado por un dermatólogo puede representar una probabilidad de recuperación de más del 95%, pero se requiere de exámenes regulares por parte de un especialista para estar atentos a que puedan aparecer nuevos sitios de cáncer de células basales.
