Incremento de presión intracraneal

El incremento de presión intracraneal es casi siempre un indicativo de problemas médicos severos. La presión puede ser responsable de daños al sistema nervioso por disminución del flujo sanguíneo al cerebro, o al producirse una herniación del cerebro en la abertura que está en la parte posterior del cráneo, en el sitio donde éste se une a la columna vertebral. Las causas del incremento de presión intracraneal pueden ser, entre otras, sangrado en el espacio subdural (hematoma subdural).
