Examen sanguíneo fetal
El examen sanguíneo fetal se realiza durante el trabajo de parto para evaluar el pH de la sangre del bebé, lo cual puede determinar su bienestar durante el parto. Se realiza una pequeña punción en el cuero cabelludo y se recolectan gotitas sanguíneas fetales en un tubo de vidrio delgado. La evaluación del cuero cabelludo puede ayudar al doctor a decidir si el feto está recibiendo suficiente oxígeno durante el trabajo de parto. Esto ayuda a determinar si el bebé está lo suficientemente saludable como para continuar el trabajo de parto p si es preferible realizar una cesárea.
