< Atras La congelación se presenta cuando la piel y los tejidos del cuerpo son expuestos a temperaturas frías por un período de tiempo prolongado. Las partes del cuerpo más afectadas son manos, pies, nariz y orejas. Si los vasos sanguíneos se ven afectados en las áreas congeladas, puede haber un daño permanente. El daño a los vasos sanguíneos puede producir la muerte del tejido y ésta puede implicar la amputación del área afectada.
