Hipertensión pulmonar primaria

La hipertensión pulmonar es el estrechamiento de las arteriolas pulmonares dentro del pulmón. Este estrechamiento crea resistencia, por lo que el corazón tiene que realizar un mayor esfuerzo. El corazón se agranda por tener que bombear sangre contra esa resistencia. Entre los síntomas se pueden encontrar dolor en el pecho, debilidad, falta de aliento y fatiga. El objetivo del tratamiento es controlar los síntomas, aunque esta enfermedad generalmente se convierte en insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva.
