< Atras La biopsia de endometrio es un procedimiento en el cual se extrae una muestra de tejido del endometrio (revestimiento interno del útero) para ser observada bajo un microscopio. Se examina con cuidado el tejido para detectar si existe cualquier anomalía o cáncer. El examen también ayuda a determinar la causa de menstruaciones anormales y puede ser utilizado para la detección del cáncer de endometrio. En algunas ocasiones también se practica este examen como parte de las pruebas de diagnóstico que se realizan en las mujeres que no han podido quedar embarazadas.
