Quiste y fóvea pilonidal

La fóvea pilonidal es una pequeña depresión o seno en el área sacra, justo en la parte superior del pliegue de las nalgas. Ésta puede también apreciarse como un tracto profundo en vez de una depresión llana, que termina en un seno que puede contener pelo. Durante la adolescencia la fóvea o tracto pilonidal puede infectarse formando una estructura parecida a un quiste, llamada quiste pilonidal. Estos quistes pilonidales pueden requerir drenaje quirúrgico o una extirpación total para evitar que se vuelvan a infectar.
