El síndrome carcinoide es el patrón de síntomas que típicamente presentan las personas con tumores carcinoides. Estos síntomas incluyen rubor facial intenso, diarrea y, ocasionalmente, sibilancia. Puede haber daño en un tipo específico de válvula cardíaca, así como la presencia de otros problemas cardíacos. Los tumores carcinoides segregan una excesiva cantidad de la hormona serotonina.
