< Atras El ultrasonido transvaginal es un método para captar imágenes del aparato genital en las mujeres. Se inserta una sonda manual directo a la vagina. Se mueve la sonda dentro de la cavidad vaginal para captar las estructuras pélvicas a la vez que se observan imágenes de ultrasonido en un monitor. Esta prueba puede realizarse para evaluar mujeres con problemas de infertilidad, sangrado anormal, fuentes de dolores inexplicables, malformaciones congénitas del útero y ovarios y posibles tumores e infección.
