Cuidados postoperatorios:

Generalmente, la recuperación de una apendicectomía simple es completa y rápida. La mayoría de los pacientes se va a su casa al día siguiente de la operación y continúa con su dieta y actividades normales en un período de una a dos semanas. Si el apéndice ha desarrollado un absceso o ha sufrido una ruptura, la recuperación suele ser un poco más lenta y más complicada, siendo necesario el uso de medicamentos (antibióticos) para tratar la infección. La falta de apéndice no causa problemas conocidos para la salud de las personas.
