El objetivo de la cirugía es enderezar el tabique nasal, con el fin de corregir las obstrucciones u otros problemas relacionados con la desviación del tabique. Se hace una incisión interna a un lado del tabique; una vez apartada la membrana mucosa del hueso, se extraen las partes obstructivas del hueso y cartílago y se realiza la cirugía plástica, si es necesario.
