La cirugía plástica de la nariz (rinoplastia) ofrece una opción para mejorar la apariencia física de la nariz, cuando ésta no es atractiva desde el punto de vista cosmético.

Debido a que hay que tomar en cuenta la edad del paciente, muchos cirujanos prefieren no realizar rinoplastias cosméticas (electivas) hasta que se haya completado el crecimiento del hueso nasal. Esto ocurre alrededor de los 14 ó 15 años en las niñas y un poco más tarde en los varones.
