Si el paciente tiene colocado un esfínter urinario artificial, también saldrá de la operación con una sonda de Foley colocada, la cual se le retirará antes de darle de alta del hospital. Para permitir que los tejidos sanen, no se inflará inmediatamente después de la cirugía el manguito de presión del esfínter artificial.
