Cuidados postoperatorios:

El éxito a largo plazo de esta operación depende de la condición de la médula espinal y de los nervios. Los resultados pueden variar desde una evolución normal hasta la parálisis (paraplejia).

Los lactantes pueden requerir hospitalización por un espacio de dos semanas posteriores a la intervención quirúrgica.
