El último paso es la reconstrucción del pezón. Hay un método que consiste en tomar un injerto parcial del pezón sano para crear uno nuevo. Con otro método, el cirujano levanta una pequeña área de la piel del seno reconstruido y realiza un tatuaje algunos días después. Por lo general, el resultado final de la reconstrucción del seno, aunque no es perfecto, es excelente. Las pacientes, sin embargo, deben analizar claramente sus expectativas con el cirujano antes de la cirugía.
