Sangrado del tracto gastrointestinal - Serie

Procedimiento (primera parte):

El primer paso en el tratamiento del sangrado gastrointestinal es localizar la fuente del sangrado. Los pacientes que han perdido cantidades importantes de sangre reciben una transfusión de sangre. Luego, se realiza una endoscopia para localizar la fuente del sangrado.

Generalmente, se realiza primero la endoscopia superior y si no se localiza la fuente del sangrado, se realiza una endoscopia inferior. Durante una endoscopia, el paciente normalmente está sedado, pero despierto.
