Las venas llevan sangre desde los tejidos hacia el corazón. La sangre en las venas fluye bajo una presión más baja y se mueve más despacio que la sangre que fluye en las arterias. Por consiguiente, la sangre es más propensa a coagular en las venas y bloquear el flujo a través de ellas.
