Indicaciones

La torsión testicular se presenta cuando el testículo, que normalmente se encuentra adherido al escroto por un pequeño ligamento en su base, se suelta. El testículo entonces gira sobre sí mismo y se interrumpe el flujo de sangre. La torsión testicular se considera una urgencia médica. Por lo general, requiere de cirugía que debe realizarse dentro de las 5 horas siguientes al inicio de los síntomas para salvar el testículo.
