El período normal de permanencia en el hospital después de un parto por cesárea es de 2 a 4 días y generalmente el médico anima a la madre a levantarse y movilizarse poco después de la cirugía para ayudar a la cicatrización y prevenir complicaciones. En las primeras semanas, la incisión abdominal presenta dolor y la cicatriz se aclarará a medida que vaya sanado.
