Family and Community Medicine Residency Program
Application Process
The University of Maryland Family Medicine Residency Program uses the Electronic
Residency Application Service (ERAS).
The requirements for applying to our program are as follows:
- Apply through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
- Complete ERAS Common Application Form
- Must have completed student clerkships in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics,
Psychiatry and OB/GYN in an inpatient setting
- Letters of reference from: the dean of your medical school (including transcript);
and three faculty members
- Copy of USMLE scores, Parts I and II
- ECFMG Certificate (must be valid indefinitely), if applicable
- A personal interview at University of Maryland, Department of Family Medicine. Interviews are scheduled
for Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. The day begins at 8:00
a.m. and ends at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Other Information
- The application deadline is December 31, 2007
- There is no graduation cut-off date
- We do accept Foreign Medical Graduates
- Clinical U.S. experience is preferred
- DO NOT SEND ANYTHING THROUGH THE MAIL.
- Interviews are scheduled upon receiving a notice from the Residency Coordinator
