The Latest Technological Advances: Gamma Knife

The University of Maryland Gamma Knife Center, the most experienced center of its kind, has been administering Gamma Knife treatments for over a decade. Since 1992, our team has treated over 2,500 patients.

Our Gamma Knife system offers the latest and most automated treatments for patients.

Treatment time is reduced through automatic positioning. Radiation is delivered with improved conformity and accuracy, allowing for smaller and more numerous shots of concentrated radiation.

Benefits of the Gamma Knife System:

Faster treatment—the automatic positioning system sets the coordinates by six independent motors. This means that for a typical nine shot treatment plan, the average time saving is 30-60 minutes
