Dr. Mozella Williams wins first University Farmers' Market Customer Appreciation Raffle

In July 2010, the University Farmers' Market kicked off its monthly Customer Appreciation Raffle. Vendors participating in the University Farmers' Market donated produce, breads, coupons and other items to fill a reusable "Green on Greene Street" grocery bag. This grocery bag was raffled off to customers who provided their names and contact information to vendors from whom they made a purchase prior to the raffle.

Dr. Mozella Williams, assistant professor of Family and Community Medicine for the University of Maryland School of Medicine and family medicine physician for the University of Maryland Medical Center, was the winner of the first Customer Appreciation Raffle, which was held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010.

Denise Choiniere, M.S., R.N., UMMC Sustainability Manager, presented Dr. Williams with her "Green on Greene Street" reusable grocery bag filled with fresh produce, including summer apples, black raspberries, squash, cucumbers and peppers; artisan bread; sauce from Gary's Savory Sauces; apple butter; a variety of desserts and coupons for Eula's Savory Soups, Ruben's Crepes and Max's Empanadas.

For a chance to be the winner of the next Customer Appreciation Raffle, please leave your name and contact information with each University Farmers' Market vendor from whom your make a purchase during the month of July. The more purchases you make, the greater your chance of winning the raffle!

The next drawing will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2010. We hope to see you there!
