Editor's Note: Amanda Frye, a nurse at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois, was a member of the University of Maryland's 21st team to go to Haiti to provide medical care since the devastating earthquake in January.
I just returned home from Haiti Sunday. I joined team 21 last week and I can’t express enough gratitude for including me in such a wonderful experience. Dr. Gens and the rest of the team were phenomenal. I can only hope that I will get the opportunity to contribute to your program again soon.
I have a surgical group here in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois, who is eager to hop on board and help when appropriate. We have been dying to help out.
I am aware that a new facility is currently being established and our team is willing and ready to help whenever you need us. We will be raising funds and collecting supplies in the meantime.
Please let us know how and when we can contribute. You really are helping so many people and I hope I can continue being a part of that in anyway that I can.
