Pre Procedure Instructions for Cardioversion

  • Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your procedure.
  • A nurse will call you and tell you what medications you should or should not take before the procedure.
  • If you take Coumadin (warfarin), make sure you keep taking it before your procedure.
  • You should go once a week to have your INR (Coumadin level) checked in the 4 weeks before your procedure. If you go to a Coumadin clinic or your doctor’s Office to have your Coumadin checks, tell them you need to have it done every week until your cardioversion. If they have questions, please have them contact the EP Lab nurse at 410-328-7801.
  • You will need someone to drive you home.

If you have any questions regarding the procedure, please contact the EP Lab at 410-328-7801.

Please call if you would like to make an appointment or talk to someone about our services. Patients dial 1-866-408-6885, physicians dial 410-328-6622 or 1-800-318-1019.
