Discharge Instructions Following Electrophysiology Study (EPS) and Ablation

No heavy lifting (greater than 10 lbs.) for 3 days if you had venous access only.
No heavy lifting (greater than 10 lbs.) for 7 days if you had an arterial access
No tub baths for the next 3 days—only showers.
You may remove the dressing over the access site in 24 hours.

If you have swelling, bleeding, pain or numbness at the access site, call the EP office at 410-328-7801 or 410-328-6056. You can also call your Primary care physician or go to the nearest emergency room.
