The University of Maryland Medical Center’s state-of-the-art Pulmonary Hypertension Program offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to patients with all forms and stages of pulmonary hypertension. One of these treatments includes pulmonary thromboendarterectomy -- or PTE -- a delicate and complex 8-hour surgery that can cure chronic (also known as secondary) pulmonary hypertension.

UMMC’s multidisciplinary team of pulmonary hypertension experts includes cardiologists, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists and social workers, who are skilled in working with pulmonary hypertension.
