World renowned cardiac surgeons at the Maryland Heart Center perform over 800 cardiac surgeries each year. These surgeries include coronary repair and replacement, valve repair and replacement, device therapy and heart and lung transplantation.

Through ongoing research and clinical experience, the surgeons often employ techniques such as off-pump coronary bypass, gene therapy to prevent clogging of vein grafts, minimally invasive valve and coronary surgical techniques, and implantation of new devices so that patients have improved outcomes and shorter stays in the hospital.
