Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

The 14-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is located on the third floor of the Gudelsky Building. Patients with acute coronary illnesses and post-interventional care are managed in the PCU. Nursing staff are trained to care for patients requiring close monitoring after receiving invasive procedures, during infusion of cardio-selective drugs, and coordinating care with various specialties within cardiology.

The Unit actively participates in nationally known studies related to heart failure and dysrhythmia treatment. Patient care is documented on an electronic record with an interdisciplinary focus, giving attention to the management of the patient's clinical, educational, and psychosocial needs.
