Stress Testing

The Stress Lab, located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Gudelsky Building, provides service to inpatients and outpatients referred for the purpose of evaluating or diagnosing heart disease.

Several types of stress tests are available depending on a patient's needs and a physician's order. This may involve the patient walking on a treadmill or receiving medication that mimics exercise. Nuclear imaging (pictures) may be requested by a physician to enhance interpretation.

During the test, the patient will have electrodes applied to the chest that will record the heart's impulse. A blood pressure cuff will be placed on the arm to record blood pressure with exercise and during recovery.
