Overview:

Jon Sherbun underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center (UMGCC) in early 2010, and is now cancer-free. In this 5-minute video, he talks about some of the ways he managed his physical and mental health during treatment -- by continuing to run, having acupuncture for symptom relief, altering his diet and facing his feelings of sadness without getting "stuck" in them. Sherbun, who is a psychotherapist, worked with his oncology treatment team at the cancer center, with a goal of thriving, not just surviving, during his treatment.
