Overview:

In this four-minute video, Dr. Trevor Valentine, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and pediatrician in the division of Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics at the University of Maryland Medical Center, presents overviews of the three most common behavioral and developmental disorders affecting children today: Autism, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and developmental delays.

Dr. Valentine discusses the areas of a child's life that are affected by each disorder as well as different methods used in their diagnosis and treatment. Although Dr. Valentine recognizes that many parents are distressed upon hearing that their child has been diagnosed with one of these conditions, he emphasizes that with proper medical intervention, most children can go on to live happy and healthy lives.
