At the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center, patients come to the Infusion Therapy Center (ITC) for chemotherapy, intravenous fluids, medications or blood products. Infusion therapy appointments may be on the same day or on a separate day from your follow-up visit with your oncologist.
Here, nurse practitioner Julie Schuetz, C.R.N.P., explains what to expect when you come to the Infusion Center and answers some common questions patients have about receiving chemotherapy.
