Playlists: stacey lichtman patient stories kidney transplant kidney exchange kidney four-way kidney exchange
Stacey Lichtman and her husband Carl came to the University of Maryland Medical Center from their home in Florida. Carl faced the prospect of dialysis because of end-stage renal disease. Stacey wanted to donate a kidney to her husband, but she was not a match, so they both entered the Paired Kidney Exchange (PKE) Program. Carl received a kidney from Emmet Davitt and Stacey donated her kidney to Bob Loudermilk. Stacey shares her story, including her experience at UMMC, her quick recovery from the single incision kidney removal procedure, and her feelings about the entire transplant team.
