Baltimore Running Festival participant, Bob Pohl, and wife, Karen, recount his brush with death when he collapsed near the finish line of the 2011 half-marathon. On-site CPR and life-saving measures were performed before Pohl was transferred to the University of Maryland Medical Center for emergency cardiac interventions. Pohl credits the runners who administered CPR and the medical personnel at the race and UMMC with saving his life and giving him a chance to run again.
