Allen Weller came to the University of Maryland Medical Center from Washington County Hospital in western Maryland after suffering a ruptured aortic aneurysm in August 2010. Although Allen did not have a detectable blood pressure for nearly twenty minutes, Dr. Rajabrata Sarkar was able to perform emergency surgery that saved Allen's life and put him on the road to a full recovery.
In this five-minute video, Allen, his wife Donna and Dr. Sarkar discuss Allen's condition -- almost all individuals diagnosed with ruptured aortic aneurysms never recover -- and praise the excellent care he received during his time at the Medical Center.
