Playlists: volunteers snow pile sick children presents holidays giving gifts family families donations child life team
Each year, University of Maryland Children's Hospital hosts the Snow Pile event to allow parents of pediatric patients to "shop" for presents for their child at the holidays. Many generous corporate and individual donors give toys and clothing throughout the year so that parents of Children's Hospital patients can experience unexpected joy at the holidays without having to leave their sick child's bed side. The Child Life team at the Children's Hospital and selfless volunteers work tirelessly to shine a little light for families who are often torn between healthy families at home and having a sick children at the hospital during the holidays.
