Dr. Bryan Ambro
is a facial plastic surgeon who specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive
surgery of the face, head and neck. His focused areas of interest and expertise
include aging face surgery (facelift and eyelids), otoplasty (external ear sculpting),
and cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty. Dr. Ambro offers the latest advances
in minimally invasive procedures, including endoscopic forehead lifts and midface
lifts. He also helps patients achieve a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance,
using Botox™, chemical peels and injectable fillers such as Restylane™,
Radiesse™, Sculptra™ and fat transfer.
Dr. Ambro has a diverse training background that includes painting and drawing, for which he has received several awards and a scholarship. Incorporating these fine arts skills into his clinical practice, Dr. Ambro strives to achieve natural-appearing results in each of his patients. He finds that “an over-operated look is what I, and most of my patients, fear the most. The goal of any rejuvenation procedure should be to restore lost features of youth in a balanced, natural fashion.”
Dr. Ambro completed his undergraduate education at Georgetown University. He received a master's degree from Cambridge University (England), performing research in the Division of Virology on potential human papilloma virus vaccines. He graduated magna cum laude from the Jefferson Medical College, where he was also inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received, among other awards, the S. MaCuen Smith Memorial Prize in Otology.
After a one-year internship in general surgery, Dr. Ambro completed a four-year residency in otolaryngology–head & neck surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He then went on to complete a fellowship in facial plastic & reconstructive surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center, one of the top programs in the country.
Dr. Ambro is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Medical Center, and serves as a reconstructive surgeon at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery. He is also an active member in Face to Face, a national domestic violence program that offers pro-bono surgical treatment to individuals who have facial injuries as a result of domestic violence.
