Thoracic Surgery

The Thoracic Surgery Division offers a full-service program for the surgical correction of thoracic, lung and esophageal disorders. Pioneering work in the techniques of thoracoscopy has made our program of minimally invasive chest surgery a national leader in this specialty.

Minimally invasive treatments include:

• Lung volume reduction surgery (LVRS)
• Minimally invasive esophagectomy
• VATS lobectomy
• Thymectomy for myasthenia gravis
• Thoracoscopic lung resection
• Thoracoscopic evaluation and management of pleural space
• Thoracoscopic mediastinal biopsy
• Thoracoscopic resection of mediastinal masses
• Thoracoscopic/laparoscopic diaphragmatic repair
