The University of Maryland Neuromuscular Program

The University of Maryland Neuromuscular Program provides specialty comprehensive specialist care for patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (motor neuron disease), muscle disease, myasthenia gravis, and peripheral neuropathy.

Outpatient Care

Four specialty clinics provide diagnosis and treatment for the following:

  1. amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) ALS Clinic now located at Maryland General Hospital
  2. myasthenia gravis
  3. peripheral neuropathy
  4. muscular dystrophy

These are multispecialty clinics that combine expertise and treatment by neurologists, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, neurosurgeons, thoracic surgeons, and rehabilitation physicians.
