Baltimore Magazine "Excellence in Nursing" Issue Honors Two from UM Greenebaum Cancer Center

For immediate release: May 05, 2015

Baltimore magazine is honoring two University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center nurses in its first-ever “Excellence in Nursing” issue for May. Renee Kwok, BSN, RN, OCN, and Todd Milliron, RN, are recognized within the Oncology specialty and are among six University of Maryland Medical Center nurses chosen by the magazine.

Renee is a nurse in radiation oncology and Todd is a nurse within Stoler Pavilion, the Greenebaum Cancer Center’s outpatient center.

“To have been nominated and then selected from a long list of the city's top nurses speaks to the impact Todd and Renee have made on their patients and fellow staff,” says Kevin Cullen, MD, director of the Greenebaum Cancer Center. “They epitomize the compassionate care and professionalism that the Cancer Center strives to provide, and we are lucky to have them on our team.”

In preparation for this special issue, the editors of Baltimore asked readers nearly a year ago to begin submitting nominations. They report they were overwhelmed with submissions from grateful patients and health professionals from all over the Baltimore area. They recruited an expert panel of nurse leaders from the region to help select 50 of the most outstanding nurses in 18 categories.

Baltimore magazine has been recognizing the area’s “Top Docs” for years, and the Medical Center was always well represented – 73 UM physicians appeared in the 2014 Top Docs issue in November.
