Occupational Therapy/ Hand Therapy

Sharon Cook O.T.R./L, C.H.T., is a Towson University graduate with over 29 years of hand therapy experience. She has been at the University for 28 years, and is working to develop the hand therapy program.


Chandra Waddell O.T.R./L, C.H.T.

Chandra Waddell O.T.R./L, C.H.T., is a senior occupational therapist and a certified hand therapist. She is an East Carolina University graduate who has been working for the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) for nearly 10 years.Chandra has training in all areas of acute occupational therapy and has worked in pediatrics as well as spinal cord rehabilitation. Over the past six years, she has specialized in hand therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings.


Laura Brosnan M.S., O.T.R./L

Laura Brosnan M.S., O.T.R./L, is a graduate of Towson University. Her work at UMMS over the past five years has given her exposure to all areas of acute care with a specialty in orthopedic trauma. She has worked in outpatient rehabilitation for two years and is working towards her CHT. She recently completed the Drexel Program for upper quadrant evaluation and treatment.


Physical Therapists – Hospital Clinic

Domingo (Jun) Cioco, P.T., comes to University of Maryland Medical Center from the Philippines. He has over 10 years of experience as a physical therapist and joined UMMS last year. While in the Philippines, Jun received his master’s degree in occupational health. In the Philippines, Jun worked in an orthopedic hospital where he specialized in spinal cord injury rehabilitation and musculoskeletal conditions.


Deborah Good, P.T.A.

Deborah Good, P.T.A., is the only physical therapy assistant at UMMS. She has eight years of experience in the outpatient and sports rehab and has been with UMMS for four years. She assists with oversight of some cardiac patients under the direction of a physical therapist. She enjoys treating all of her patients rehabilitation needs from head to toe, both actively and passively.


Valerie Marshall, P.T., is a University of Maryland physical therapy graduate with over 29 years of experience at UMMS. As an instructor for the PTA school at BCCC, she teaches the amputee and prosthetics course. Valerie specializes in this area of patient care. She is NDT certified in adult hemiplegia.


Patricia McCoy, M.P.T.

Patricia McCoy, M.P.T.
As a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore Physical Therapy program seven years ago, Patricia has experience with a variety of patient populations. She has worked in a variety of settings, including acute care, long-term nursing facilities, and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. She is pursuing further expertise in orthopedics and women’s health.


Michael Swoboda, M.P.T.

Michael Swoboda, M.P.T., is a senior physical therapist who provides treatment techniques to promote improved mobility and functional activity and reduce pain. He has been with UMMS for nearly six years. His interests include orthopedics and sports injuries.


Physical Therapists- Frenkil Clinic

Fay Wilson, P.T., has been employed at the University of Maryland Medical Center for the past 23 years. She is currently the senior physical therapist at the Frenkil Physical Therapy Department in the Frenkil Building on campus. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland at Baltimore, School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy. Her areas of specialization include women's health, orthopedics, and manual therapy. She is currently completing the last phase of her international lymphedema certification.

Keith Zurbach, P.T.

Keith Zurbach, P.T., graduated from University of Buffalo and has been practicing physical therapy for 10 years. Keith has worked in a variety of settings but finds his specialty in orthopedics. He will be sitting for further certification as an orthopedic manual therapist. Additionally, Keith teaches at the University of Maryland School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences.


Speech Language Pathology

Cara Erskine, M.E.D., C.C.C.-S.L.P./A

Cara Erskine, M.Ed., C.C.C.-S.L.P./A, is a senior speech pathologist at the University of Maryland Medical Center who specializes in swallowing problems, voice disorders and head and neck cancer.


Pediatrics

Cynthia Ruth, P.T., is a University of Maryland Physical Therapy School graduate with over 25 years of experience in a variety of settings. Throughout her career, she has worked in acute rehabilitation and in all areas of UMMC. Currently, she is the senior physical therapist in pediatrics. She loves patient care and her family.
