Our Center places a strong emphasis on thorough and efficient multidisciplinary
assessments to evaluate factors contributing to pain. We use this information
to individualize treatment plans and to maximize patient outcomes.
Problems and disorders frequently evaluated by our Center include but are not limited to:
- Back pain
- Headaches
- Joint pain
- Shoulder pain
- Complex regional pain syndromes (RSD/causalgia)
- Myofascial pain
- Neck pain with/without radicular pain
- Cancer related pain
- Neuralgia (pain from injured nerves)
- Pelvic pain
- Anxiety, depression, stress and lifestyle issues related to pain
Physicians obtain a thorough history through patient interviews, perform physical examinations and review pertinent records and reports. Each patient is discussed by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, psychologists, physical therapists and a nurse and an individualized treatment plan is formulated for each patient. Consultation from experts in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, surgery, psychiatry, radiology and other specialties are obtained as needed.
Based upon the information gained, our physicians may refer patients for psychological, physical and occupational
therapy evaluations. Team members review the data and prepare recommendations for treatment based on individual patient requirements. These recommendations are shared with patients, their families and referring physicians. |
