Indications:

Bowel resection may be indicated for:

blockage of the intestine (intestinal obstruction) due to scar tissue or tumors
bleeding, due to diverticulosis or arteriovenous malformations
injuries
cancer
precancerous polyps
familial polyposis
infection, due to diverticulitis
