Emergency Medicine

Forest Closson, M.D., has joined the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as instructor of pediatrics, division of emergency medicine. Dr. Closson received his medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and later completed a pediatric residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

General Pediatrics

Laura Finkelstein, M.D., has joined the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as clinical assistant professor in the department of pediatrics, division of general pediatrics. Dr. Finkelstein received her bachelor's degree from Radcliffe College and her medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Finkelstein also completed a pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital of New York.

Nephrology

Ayesa Mian, M.D., has joined the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as assistant professor of pediatrics, division of nephrology. Dr. Mian received her bachelor's degree from the Johns Hopkins University and her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed an internship, residency and fellowship in nephrology at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital in New York.

Pulmonology and Allergy

Maya Ramagopal, M.D., has joined the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as assistant professor of pediatrics, division of pulmonology and allergy. Dr. Ramagopal received her bachelor's of medicine and bachelor's of surgery degrees from the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in India. She completed a pediatric residency at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Vermont and also at JIPMER in Pondicherry, India. She also completed a fellowship in pulmonology at the Montreal Children's Hospital.
