Conferences

Conferences are held regularly -- critical topics are reviewed annually, others biannually. This schedule ensures that each resident will be exposed to the entire didactic curriculum during training. Highlights of the general conference structure include:

Daily:

• Morning Conference

Weekly:

• Board Review
• Grand Rounds
• Hot Box a.k.a. "Stump the Chairman" (interactive conference where students, residents and faculty participate together to solve a diagnostic dilemma)

Monthly:

• Behavior Rounds
• Newborn Nursery Conference
• Evidence-Based Medicine Journal Club
• Morbidity and Mortality Conference
• Town Meeting with the Chairman, Program Directors, and Chief Residents

Special Seminars:

• Child Maltreatment Seminar
• PGY 1,2, and 3 Retreats
• Resident Supervisory Symposium (Teaching Skills Seminar)
