Residency is an experience unlike any other in your life. The friendly, supportive environment of Maryland’s Hospital for Children encourages growth. You will work hard, make friends for a lifetime, and grow.
At the heart of our program is a philosophy to which we are fully committed: patient-centered care. This approach involves interdisciplinary teams in which the patient and family are important members. Our large and varied patient population exposes you to the entire spectrum of pediatric disease processes in a broad range of individuals and families. The curriculum provides a balanced training experience that will prepare you for your career of choice.
The excellent reputation of our program in the academic community allows our residents to compete successfully for the most highly sought-after fellowship positions or community practice positions.
Our goal is to be on the cutting edge in medical education. A comprehensive competency-based curriculum provides infrastructure for a self-directed learning experience, guided by faculty mentors.
This program is at the forefront of the development of a national web-based portfolio system for learning and evaluation. These innovations in graduate medical education have received national recognition.
Thank you for interest in our program. We look forward to meeting you!
