A little bit about myself...

I grew up outside Baltimore in Owings Mills. I am the oldest child in my family as I have 2 younger brothers. The majority of my childhood was taken up with sports and travel. I played football, basketball, and lacrosse through high school, and through my life. I have dabbled with horseback riding, scuba diving and soccer.

My father is a psychologist and my mother in an art teacher. My parents love traveling. My first trip out of the country was when I was 8 years old- to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. I have visited 28 other countries since on every continent (theoretically) except Australia. Because my mother is an artist, I have been to art museums in almost every city. I have been to and also have a great appreciate for art.

I went to college at Trinity College in Hartford, CT - where I played lacrosse for 2 years and majored in Biochemistry. While at Trinity, I was president of the schools activities council an helped start the local AMSA chapter.

After college, I got a Master's in Physiology at Georgetown University and then taught 8th grade for a year at Catonsville CMPS Middle.  I went to medical school at Kirksville College of Osetopathic Medicine in Missouri. During med school, I held many national offices with AMSA. I also worked at the local Juvenile Detention Center in Kirksville mentoring troubled teenagers.

I chose residency at UMMS because I felt comfortable with the program and the people in it. I have found everyone to be very supportive, warm, and friendly in my brief period here. I would highly recommend you strongly consider joining our Pediatric family.
