Overview: Immunizations are an important part of protecting the health of infants and children. But adults need them, too. In this Medically Speaking podcast, Dr. Richard Colgan, a family medicine physician at the University of Maryland Medical Center, talks about vaccines that adults should consider and why they are important.
Some of these vaccines include influenza (flu), pneumonia and tetanus. Certain people may need a vaccine for Hepatitis B. Others who are traveling overseas may also need other immunizations. Dr. Colgan is also an associate professor of community and family medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
