Women sometimes experience pelvic organ prolapse, a medical condition in which the muscles and ligaments supporting the pelvic organs, such as the bladder, can become weak and slip out of place.
In this interview with Ellen Beth Levitt, Dr. Leslie Rickey discusses the symptoms, causes and treatment options available for women with pelvic organ prolapse. Dr. Rickey is a urogynecologist at the University of Maryland Medical Center and an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
